Friday morning we set off from Louisville and headed to Winchester. We went right to Winchester Christian Academy: a 7th – 12th grade school. This is the second time MC’s have gone to this school, and it was a few years ago so this was a new place for most of us. Talking to the kids after the play, many of them related to the play and were touching true brokenness. Many of them were fatherless, facing divorce and illness in their families, cutting, had low self esteem, and many more things. They were truly broken, and the Lord was really touching them, even though many of them wouldn’t show it. We got to pray for many of them and encourage them in who they are and the Love the Lord has for them. They were very hungry people, and we hope to keep up some of the relationships with them. A small group of young people from Winchester Covenant Church go there weekly and lead worship for them and we pray they can continue to reach the brokenness many of those kids are experiences. It was a good experience for us to be able to break through hardness and brokenness that many of us can’t even relate to. We believe the Lord is going to continue to work through the kids and teachers in that school in the months and years to come.
